About
As Marion County's only non-profit hospice providers, we strive to provide personal, compassionate, and professional care to terminally ill patients and their families who reside in northwest Alabama. Hospice of Northwest Alabama was founded in 1993 by community leaders of Marion and Winston counties. We provide services throughout Marion and Winston counties, as well as, surrounding communities in Walker, Fayette, Pickens, and Lamar counties.
At Hospice of Northwest Alabama, our health care approach focuses on helping patients remain in their homes, surrounded by loved ones, by providing symptom and pain management. We are committed to provide quality care, focusing on the patient and their dignity, not their disease, and by meeting the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient and their family.

Who Pays for Hospice Care
Hospice care is covered by Medicare, most Medicaid plans, and by many private insurance plans. Patients care also private pay for hospice care. Most insurance plans cover hospice care, medications related to the patient's diagnosis, medical supplies, and medical equipment.
Who Provides Hospice Care
The plan of care is directed by the patient which allows individualized needs, wishes, and values of the patient and their family to be met. Your hospice team may include but, is not limited to:
